F R O M T H E E D I T O R finelinesmagazine.com 3 How is Your Skin Care Self-Care? As the days get shorter, it's human nature to fit as much as we can into the fleeting daylight hours, often leaving us exhausted at day's end. When the chores are done, the kids and pets are fed, and the house is finally quiet, sometimes it's all we can do to swipe a warm washcloth across our face before we drag ourselves into bed. Estheticians would tell us, however, that we are neglecting some really important self-care. In fact, they say our nighttime skin care routine is equally as important as our daytime skin care routine. While daytime protocols are meant to protect our skin, nighttime routines are designed to repair it. Check out page 6, where our friend Emily Jones (a.k.a. Esty Emily) gives some great advice on why your skin deserves more than a washcloth before bed, and what a good nighttime skin care routine might look like. Yes, it might take an extra few minutes, but aren't you worth it? According to the beauty and wellness appointment app Booksy, waxing appointments are up 119 percent from this time last year. Booksy examined booking data across the US from January 1 to April 30, 2021, to identify the most popular services based on appointments scheduled. Other services in demand include: Spray tan up 126% Anti-cellulite massage up 82% Botox up 167% Karrie Osborn, editor karrie@ascpskincare.com This publication is intended for the exclusive use of ASCP members.
