Everyone looks in the mirror and everyone sees things they want to change. We know you notice wrinkles, aging, sagging, and pimples, just like the ladies do. An esthetician can discuss your skin concerns and work with you on a plan to address those concerns. FACT 1 Most problems with men's skin revolve around beard and hair growth issues. An esthetician can show you how to shave correctly and how to take care of your skin before and after shaving. FACT 2 Beard areas are sensitive. Upward movements using implements such as cloths or sponges against the beard growth pattern can be uncomfortable. Neck areas are especially sensitive to this. When washing your face, move in the direction of hair growth. FACT 3 We know—guys don't want to smell like roses. Estheticians know this and will have plenty of products that are either fragrance-free or gender neutral. FACT 4 Most men have combination skin. If that's you, stay away from heavy creams and thick, pasty products. Your esthetician can suggest lighter weight and easily absorbable products for both treatment and home care. FACT 5 Men's skin can often be dehydrated but rarely lacks oil. Products that are water-based and add hydration—rather than oils and emollients—are ideal choices.
